Coomarasamy Nithianathan Pillay 1929–2020
Dr Coomarasamy Nithianathan “CN” Pillay died at the age of 90 on Christmas Day 2020. He worked for decades at the RK Khan Hospital and was key in the formation of the Chatsworth Regional Hospice. “CN” was the epitome of selflessness; his lifelong contribution to the development of public sector surgical services in Durban and his longstanding commitment to the wider community made him a legend in the surgical fraternity.
