Professor Eduard Bernard Hoffman: 12 May 1947 – 24 August 2020
Eduard Bernard (Teddie) Hoffman is synonymous with Cape Town and South African Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgery and one of the constants in a world of flux. He had a distinguished academic record at Jan van Riebeck High School in Cape Town. He then went to Stellenbosch University and, after graduating in medicine, he started as a small town GP in Middelburg. He returned to Cape Town to study Orthopaedic Surgery, at the University of Cape Town where he spent the rest of his career, other than a short stint in Wales.
